Dear South Summit Students and Parents,

Welcome back for the 2024/2025 school year! It’s hard to believe summer is winding down. This is one of my favorite times of the year when the school community is abuzz with the newness that only comes with a new school year! We are thrilled to welcome our students, staff, and families back to school. We have been gearing up for an exciting year of learning, growing, and everything else that makes the school year so wonderful. We hope you’ve had a restful and rejuvenating break filled with lots of memorable moments with family and friends.

As we prepare to welcome our students back to school, we’re all filled with anticipation for all the incredible opportunities that lie ahead, leading to our thriving together as a community. I am particularly excited about the continued collaboration between our teachers, staff, and parents as we work together to support our students and their success. We know that our community is strongest when we all pull together, and we are grateful for the ongoing support and dedication you bring to our schools.

This year we are launching two new apps to help provide you with the best communications possible. 1) BusRight is a new app for parents to utilize that provides you with real time information about your student's bus route. BusRight will keep you updated if buses get delayed or pick up locations change, etc. 2) The Rooms platform, located within the South Summit School District app, is ready for South Summit Elementary and Middle Schools. South Summit High School's athletic teams and activity clubs will also be using Rooms. Watch your email for invitations and instructions for both BusRight and Rooms.

Parents, I know how much you cherish the time spent with your children over the summer. I also understand the excitement (and maybe even a little relief) that comes with sending them back to school. Rest assured, our dedicated faculty and staff are ready and eager to partner with you in guiding your children through another successful year of learning and personal growth and development. We thank you for entrusting us with your kids to give them an outstanding education.

Students, we can’t wait to see your smiling faces back in our classrooms and hallways. This year, you’ll be diving into new challenges, exploring creative ideas, and building the skills and knowledge that will carry you far in life. Remember, every day is an opportunity to learn something new, to make a difference, and to grow as individuals. Your teachers, as well as everyone in our school community, are excited to embrace the challenges and joys to come this year; whether it’s in the classroom, on the field or court, or even at home, we’re committed to ensuring that you have a successful and fulfilling year!
